Bai Mai Tee Plid Plew (2019), also known as "Chiếc Lá Cuốn Bay," is a Thai drama series adapted from a novel of the same name. The story revolves around the tragic life of Nira (Baifern Pimchanok), a transgender woman. From a young age, Nira has been aware of her true gender identity, which has led to her receiving mistreatment from her promiscuous father, who often physically abuses her mother. Deep down, Nira yearns to live as her authentic self, and her only source of love and acceptance is her mother. Nira wishes her father could be more like her uncle, Chatchavee (Push Puttichai), a warm-hearted man who always stands up for her mother, cares for her, and understands her.
With the support of her mother, Nira decides to make a life-changing decision. She undergoes gender reassignment surgery and transforms into a beautiful and alluring woman named Nira. Unfortunately, her mother passes away during the surgery, leaving Nira to rely on the help of Dr. Benjang, who sees her as his younger sister.
Ironically, not only does Uncle Chatchavee become infatuated with Nira's beauty, but even Nira's own father becomes enamored with her, unaware that she is his own abandoned child. This complicated love triangle becomes even more entangled when Nira also falls for Uncle Chatchavee and Rungrong, Chatchavee's wife and Nira's aunt, who looks down on Nira's love and becomes jealous of her. She discovers the truth and tries to hinder Nira in every possible way. What will happen when they all discover the truth? Will these secrets remain hidden forever? After enduring so much pain, will Nira finally find happiness with the man she loves?
